Documentary Review-Holden Caulfield By Lisa Martine Jenkins This is a film regarding J.D. Salinger's effect on American society and the portrayal of teenagers in the media. The time setting in this Documentary was in the 60’s.This film is about teenagers and them not knowing anything about drugs or alcohol and they didn’t even think about rebelling.
Plot summary The plot summary is about teenagers in the early 50’s that never thought of rebelling from their family and teens used to dress like adults. But the more years that went by the more teens got to know more about all this rebelling and drugs and alcohol. The 2 clips that the documentary showed (Rebel without a cause and The Wild One) were showing us that they started rebelling for no reason.
There wasn’t much acting in this film; they showed more of movie clips from different movies. But when there was acting it was quite poor. We think that the background music was soft and also quite boring, but the photography was good. Also whenever the Narrator spoke you would have to listen really hard for it because it wasn’t very loud. What we would do to improve this documentary is to make the narrators voice louder and actually include some footage that would appeal to teenagers to make them watch it. We would also use better music.
