This student-made documentary film examines what it would be like to live in a wheelchair for 30 Days. The filmmakers state: Our inspiration for this project comes from Morgan Spurlock, the mastermind behind "SuperSize Me." Spurlock now has his own sitcom called "30 Days" on FX where people live the life or lifestyle of another to gain an understanding of what it is like to "live 30 days in someone else's shoes."

The two students who shared the challenge to live in a wheelchair for 30 days at MSU were: Jacquie Detterbeck and James Goodrow.

The student team states:
"*Our Project: Film a documentary about living a life completely different from your own in some way, and in a way that proves an intellectual challenge, for 30 days.
*Our Thesis: Since the passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990, those with disabilities still face many challenges, many of which are unnecessary.
*Our Film: Two of our group members (Jacquie and Jim) will be "living the life of a person confined to a wheelchair" for two weeks each, making a combined total of 30 days. It is our hope that this film will illustrate to the public those challenges faced by the disabled--an issue that is often ignored."

This film was created as part of a senior thesis research project in a course at Michigan State University. Learn more here: http://www.msu.edu/course/lbs/492/luckie

Imagine when life is turned around by a single accident that leaves you pushing yourself around in a wheelchair and be very dependent on people around you. You will probably find this rather hard to imagine but every 1 out of 5 American is or will be mentally or physically handi-capped.This documentary was designed to allow us to visualize what these 1 in 5 must live through every day.
    ...........................................
We thought the acting was very genuine because they’re mistakes were also filmed rather than edited out however the sound quality was fairly poor probably because the people had to record themselves with a single microphone rather than with backup sound gear to enhance sound. We definitely enjoyed the prologue which gave a very dramatic twist opening sequence to the documentary.

Overall this documentary is a must see for everyone especially those interested in learning about lives of others, This documentary in comparison to many other reality documentaries was by far on the top because it showed a “different way of living” and may also generated alot of sympathy and change in the audience.

    Plot summary
Two students (Jacquie Detterbeck and James Goodrow) from Michigan State University take part in a challenge to live 30 days in a wheelchair in order to experience what it’s like to live with a disability. As they live on they find it increasingly difficult to cope with having a disability. The film was created as part of a senior thesis research project in a course at MSU.
    Acting
The acting is fairly passable but lacks in required emotion and expression of feelings during interviewing.
    Editing
The editing is done fairly well and used at good times which made it more interesting to watch. It used moments when they sped up the filming. Apart from that there wasn’t really much editing. It could have definitely used more.
    Background Music
There was a lot of background music which made it little more entertaining and used it to easily express the feelings of the documentary. But, the music didn’t fit the moment a lot of the time. All this contributed to the quality of the doco.
In all this was a little poor.
